Just got my first SX-70 today (will buy film in a bit). It takes pictures alright, was using PX600 film to test, obviously the pictures came out overexposed.
But on one part of it, the skin is coming off, and there's a crack. Attached are some photos. Any advice on how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!

It looks like you have a model 1, which I believe is chrome plated plastic. If you can clamp it so the pieces are flush together you might be able to use a small amount of superglue, or maybe plastic model cement. Put on some glue and clamp it. Let it sit for a day or so. Unfortunately, plastic is notoriously difficult to glue back together once it has cracked like that.
As for the skin, a little contact cement on both surfaces should tack that back down. You will probably want to clamp it to get good adhesion.
Good luck, maybe someone else will chime in with some other ideas.
for changing the skin i made a tuto (in french)

There's a fellow named Roger Garrell in the U.S. who specializes in repairing all models of the SX-70, including the SLR680. I've used his service several times. In one repair, I had an SX-70 with damage similar to that in your photos. He replaced the cracked panel with a spare that he had, which had good leather. It cost me something like $89. total.
He offers his services thru eBay. Search eBay for "Polaroid SX-70 Repair Service" by a seller named "fastcat99". He's located in Lake Orion, Michigan.
He's done some amazing repairs. I had an SLR680 with a bad body, and I had a black SX-70 Sonar OneStep with bad electronics. He managed to create a Franken-oid by replacing the bad "head" on the Sonar OneStep with the working electronics of the SLR680. Really outstanding work.
