The Impossible Pioneer Card

I would love to own the Impossible Pioneer Card but I fear the qualifications may leave many (including me) out in the cold.

  • "Pioneer Cards will only be issued to those of you who have supported Impossible from the very beginning"....that's great - a fancy card just for the first few in the door sounds cool but how about a different card for everyone else who didn't know about the project until later but still support The Impossible Project buy purchasing products.

  • "a dynamic point system: One Impossible film pack purchased in our online shop credits 1 point.".....that's cool too, but I've found a few packs of film and other accessories that gets you ZERO points. Any money spent on products sold by The Impossible Project should count towards point.

Times are still tough and discretionary cash is still in short supply but Polaroid fans still find a way to scrape a few bucks together to buy film from The Impossible Project. I appreciate everything that The Impossible Project has done and will continue to buy your products. But I would love to see a change in requirements for the Pioneer Card program that might make it easier for everyone to participate.

Thanks

Hi Randy,

Thanks for your feedback.

The Pioneer Card is meant as a way to give something back to those customers who support(ed) us from the beginning - when the film is still experimental and unstable in the first year of production.

That's why the program is limited to purchases of Impossible materials - the film coming out of our factory in Holland. It would be contrary to the idea of the program if you got rewarded for buying original Polaroid film which is proven to work, or accessories. You support us by buying our own films - you get rewarded.

Note that the program is open until March 22, 2011 - anyone who accumulates 10 points or more can apply for a Pioneer account and has access to the benefits.

In order to qualify for the Pioneer program, we must accumulate all ten points before March 22, 2011? Or do we just need to accumulate a few points before March 22, 2011 and once we reach ten (even if the ten point-mark was met in July 2011, for example) we qualify for the Pioneer program?

I have three points right now as it is so I do not see a problem accumulating seven more by March, but if I only had nine points by March 22, 2011 I would be more than a little disappointed if I did not qualify.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

I'm afraid the program closes its gates on March 23, 2011 - so if you don't create your account by then (meaning you get your 10 points together), then you don't qualify.

Note that the PX 70 triple counts for 2 points though, and makes reaching the 10 point mark a bit easier.
