Poor Customer Service

I was wondering if lot of people have had poor or no response to their Service requests. I have put in two service requests but have had no response till now on the matter.

Today I just got a refurbished SX70 from Impossible Project and turns out that it cannot close. I wonder if it is worth paying all this money for old cameras if this is the refurbishing quality of the products. My old SX70 with it's broken leather skin is still going strong and closes perfectly. Here I pay over $300 for a refurbished camera and it comes in pretty poor condition. Even the viewfinder is pretty dark. Makes me wonder if we are just getting sucked into this hype.

I must say that I was pretty excited about using the instant film again but the whole customer service from the Impossible project guys leaves a lot to be desired.

Personally, I've had very good experience with customer service.  How did you contact the customer service department? Did you use the link "Submit a Request" at the top of this page, or did you send an email to them? If the latter, to what email address did you send it?

Regards,
Tom

Hi Tom,

I did use the link "Submit a request" and after there was no response for a week, I sent in another request. However, almost 20 days after no response from the Customer Service, I just emailed them as well. Hopefully, after the holiday season I will get a proper response from them. I just felt pretty disappointed with the whole lack of communication. As a professional photographer, I am used to great service from people at B&H etc. so to receive no response at all or any kind of communication from the company felt weird.

Thanks,

CJ

Hi CJ,

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't heard back from customer support. Where are you located? The SX-70 cameras are 40 years old, so there may be some quirks now and then. Sometimes, we find that during shipping, even slight jostling can affect the cameras. We of course test and fix any cameras that are not functioning properly before we put them in camera kits and make them available for purchase. Please email service@the-impossible-project.com directly and CC me so that I can ensure that you are properly helped. My email address is patrick@the-impossible-project.com.

Best,

Patrick
