Brown Areas~Camera or Film?

Greetings,

I am using the PX 680 Color Shade film with an Impulse SE camera.
Of the 8 photos I've taken so far, 5 of them have large flat brown areas.
The 3rd and 4th shots came out together.
I understand the problem with the brown can be caused by dirt on the rollers but the
rollers as well as the rest of the inside of the camera seem to be very clean.

Could this be a problem with the film being faulty?
If the problem is with the camera I'd like to fix it before putting more film in.
Let me know if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks,
J

There is another post in this forum about large, undeveloped patches, so perhaps it's the same issue. I haven't run into this problem myself (knock on wood), but the possibilities include:

  • dried developer on the rollers, especially at ends
  • insufficient tension between the rollers (perhaps the springs that press the two rollers together is weak/broken)
  • the film pack was squeezed (perhaps before you purchased the films)
  • defective film packs

My suggestion would be to submit a support request with Impossible using this form: http://support.the-impossible-project.com/requests/new

Good luck,
TRB

Thanks Tom.  I'll give that form a try.
